Take a trip to Uganda

Meet these amazing children!
If you have never participated in a service project or been on a mission trip to a developing  country then you have missed out on a life changing experience!
US2UGANDA4life plans trips annually and we are always looking for people to share in the joy of serving in Uganda. You make your own travel plans to get to and from Entebbe, affording you the flexibility to use frequent flyer miles or add another adventure to the front or back of the trip.
In country costs are approximately $850.00 and this covers all in country transportation, food, lodging and a contribution to one of the many projects we will fund while we are there.  You will be responsible for completing your your online entry visa application and paying the $50.00 fee. You will need shots and no it is not dangerous. We make this trip every year with large groups and we have developed amazing partnerships to ensure that it's both safe and enjoyable.

TYPICAL ITINERARY

Day Of Arrival   - Arrive into Entebbe [Usually late from the US], get picked up at the airport and transfer to Sunset Entebbe, our preferred hotel.

Day ONE in Uganda  -  Breakfast at Sunset Entebbe then a bus ride from Entebbe to Masaka with a stop for pictures as we cross the equator.  Arrive at Banda Lodge and settle in.

Day Two [Work Day 1]  – Breakfast at Banda [ A sandwich crew will be designated to make lunches] followed by a huge welcome at Masaka Baptist School. Teams will split up after the welcome to work with the students. Usually work with the children until around 4.30 then back to Banda for a swim, dinner and a recap of the day.

Work Days will  be programmed in advance and will include lots of activities for the younger children at Masaka Baptist primary School.  The older children will come to the ranch for two or three days and again this will be highly programmed. The goal is to engage the older students in the morning with inspirational speakers followed by open discussion in small groups. Afternoons are reserved for activities both educational and sporting. We like to add life skills training to the agenda, and we encourage everyone on the team to bring ideas to the table in advance of he trip. Ultimately, we want to spend as much time as possible with the children, motivating them and letting them know they are loved.

Banda Lodge -  This our place of retreat, breakfast and dinner will be served at Banda every day except Friday evening when we all go as a team to a wonderful BBQ at Café Frikadellen.  A treat that is included in your in-country costs.

Departure Day – Unless you have made alternative arrangements our last day is reserved for packing and travel.  Flights usually depart late in the evening and if that is the case we will leave Banda at around 2pm for Entebbe. Dinner on the last night is a treat at Faze 3 Restaurant near the airport [ Again included in your in-country costs. We hang there until its time to head to the airport for our flights.

ACCOMMODATION
In Masaka we stay at a wonderful Guesthouse called Banda Lodge. Yes that is a swimming pool that you see in the fore ground and I assure you its a  welcome sight after a long day with the children. Banda is home from home for US2UGANDA4life,  in the past year they have added a new kitchen so all of the food is now prepared on site, simply delicious!  With tall walls, a locked gate and 24 hour security you are likely to feel as safe at Banda as your own home!

INSURANCE
It is important that you take out additional insurance coverage while you are travelling abroad. We have never had occasion to use it but we were introduced to Volunteer Card a few years ago and found that they offer excellent coverage at a very reasonable price. Tiered to suit your needs.
